Longevity Medicine
A longer life is only part of the question.
At SCIENTIA, longevity medicine begins with understanding the life you want to keep living.
We look at physiology, metabolism, hormones, body composition, nutrition, sleep, movement and risk. But we also want to know what has worked for you before, what has not, how you understand your own body, and what you hope your next ten or twenty years will still allow you to do.
Because longevity is not simply about adding years.
It is about what remains possible inside them.
What does longevity mean at SCIENTIA?
We are interested in lifespan, but we are equally interested in healthspan: the years in which you remain capable, independent, clear, mobile and engaged with your life.
Even healthspan does not tell the whole story.
There is pleasure. Sexuality. Strength. Curiosity. Meaning. Beauty. The ability to travel, work, create, love, recover and remain interested in the world.
These things are difficult to reduce to a laboratory value.
They still matter enormously.
So one of the first questions we may ask is surprisingly simple:
What are we preserving your health for?
The answer changes the medicine.
Why does longevity medicine begin with assessment?
Because the plan should follow the person, not a template.
A SCIENTIA longevity assessment brings together more than seventy clinical markers with body composition, metabolic and hormonal function, medical history, medications, supplements and the patterns of daily life.
Then we interpret them in context.
A ferritin value means something different depending on the person.
So does testosterone.
So does glucose.
So does sleep.
The objective is not to collect the largest possible amount of data. It is to find the information that can meaningfully change a decision.
Does SCIENTIA only use conventional medicine?
No.
We are interested in the full spectrum of knowledge that may be relevant to the person in front of us.
One person may want a strongly lifestyle-based approach built around food, strength, sleep, meditation and traditional medicine.
Another may already be comfortable with hormone therapy, peptides or pharmaceuticals.
Someone else may eventually want to discuss biologics, biophysics, cellular therapies or gene-based approaches.
These preferences are clinically relevant.
Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, botanical traditions, contemplative practices and other long-standing systems of human observation can also be part of someone's history and understanding of health.
We do not assume that something is true because it is old.
We do not assume that it is irrelevant because it did not originate in modern biomedicine.
We remain curious, and we distinguish carefully between tradition, observation, mechanism and established clinical evidence.
What can a longevity plan include?
Depending on the findings and the person, the conversation may include:
Nutrition and metabolic medicine. Strength and cardiovascular conditioning. Sleep. Hormonal care for men and women. Peptide therapy. Medication review. Supplements. Body composition. Sexual health. Dermatology. Biophysical approaches. Surgical preparation. Regenerative medicine and advanced biologics where clinically appropriate.
There is no hierarchy of sophistication.
Sometimes the important intervention is protein.
Sometimes it is estradiol or testosterone.
Sometimes it is a medication.
Sometimes the relevant conversation is considerably more advanced.
The sophistication is not in doing more. It is in choosing well.
Longevity medicine in Cabo
SCIENTIA Institute is based at the Koral Center in Cabo, Baja California Sur, working in collaboration with Hospital H+ Los Cabos.
Our role is not to tell you how to become a different person.
It is to understand the person already here, the physiology supporting that life, and what may be worth protecting for the years ahead.
Frequently asked questions
What is longevity medicine?
Longevity medicine is clinical care focused on understanding the biological and functional factors that influence health across time. At SCIENTIA, it includes medical assessment, metabolic and hormonal function, nutrition, body composition, sleep, movement, risk and the person's own goals and history.
Do I need to want advanced treatments to come to SCIENTIA?
No. A longevity assessment does not assume a particular treatment. Some people prefer nutrition, fitness and lifestyle approaches. Others are comfortable with hormones, peptides or pharmaceuticals. Advanced biologics are only part of the conversation when there is a reason for them to be.
Is longevity medicine only for those over 60?
No. Different ages create different questions. Earlier assessments may focus more on prevention, reserve and establishing a useful baseline. Later assessments may focus more on preserving function, understanding changing physiology and deciding what remains actionable.
What happens after the assessment?
The findings are reviewed with a physician and placed in the context of your history, priorities and preferences. Options are discussed along with the type and strength of evidence behind them. The plan follows from that conversation.
